Ofcom issues invitation for Northampton community radio licence

An invitation to apply for the FM community radio licence in Northampton has been issued today (Friday 15 May) by Ofcom.
The current licence holder, Inspiration FM, stated their desire to continue broadcasting but, according to the regulator, failed to meet the statutory deadline to extend their current licence.
Ofcom made it clear that they are viewing this as an exceptional case and are not looking to invite applications for other areas.
